TESTIMONIALS

Steven Selby

"I am an experienced Sound Engineer/TM/PM working with A-List acts within the industry. I am a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland BA Production Technology and Management course.

I got Will involved with a band that I Production Manage - Fatherson - for their headline show at the O2 Academy Glasgow as my Production Assistant. I approached Will for this role as I thought it would be beneficial for his career progression to see and work on a large scale Academy gig such as this. His role consisted of being my eyes and ears on the ground and my second pair of hands during the loadin. This also meant that he was able to watch and get involved in working with all departments (Sound, Lighting, Backline, Pyro and Catering).

It was great to see Will get stuck in with every job he was given, it was also refreshing to see that he felt comfortable asking everyone relevant questions to find out more and expand his knowledge about all aspects of the production.

It was brilliant that Will stayed after the show and mucked in with the loadout and didn't moan or lag at all, which reinforced to me his great work ethic and attitude towards the job. This was confirmed by the fact that I asked him back to work the next Fatherson headline show at the Barrowland Ballroom, again taking on the role of Production Assistant, at which he was just as professional and capable."

Post Ironic State

"We worked with Will as our Front of House Engineer and Tour Manager for various gigs in Scotland over the past year. In the run up to the dates, he prepared a Specification of all the equipment we would need and prepared a show file for the venues desk. We did a very thorough soundcheck upon arriving at the venue, and Will made sure everything was set up to perfection ahead of our slot. During our performance, Will was hard at work behind the desk, and several of our fans commented that the sound was much clearer and more powerful than any other of our gigs they had attended. We look forward to working with Will again in the future, he shows a real passion for his profession and is definitely the best Audio Engineer we've worked with. "

Just Suppose

"We worked with Will on our latest EP , where he took responsibility for co-producing, recording, mixing and mastering all 5 tracks. He came prepared with a full inventory of items we needed and had thoroughly planned out our recording process to ensure that we were as efficient as possible when it came to the use of our studio time. Will ensured that everything was correctly and very well set up within the studio so that our recordings sounded as good as possible. Since working with Will our tracks definitely sound more complete as he allowed us to focus purely on our sound as he had handled everything else for us. With regard to the task of mixing and mastering our tracks, we have been extremely happy with the amazing quality and the clarity of the sound that Will brought to our tracks.

We will one hundred percent be working with Will again as it was clear he made the effort to ensure we got the best out of our sessions, as well as spending a lot of time in the mixing and mastering process, therefore helping us produce our best tracks yet."

Berwickshire High School Music Department

"Will has acted as sound engineer for our very successful school musical productions over the last three years, operating the sound desk for performances as well as setting up the P.A. equipment and supporting cast members in their use of radio mics. He has brought a great deal of professionalism to the shows – often having to balance the sound of amateur singers against a powerful professional orchestra, and taking this in his stride. Will has always had a friendly and calm manner that is very much appreciated – especially during dress rehearsals where things inevitably never go to plan. Whatever problems arise, he is always keen to offer a creative and effective solution.

In our most recent production - "Legally Blonde" - Will oversaw the set-up and use of production power as well as a new P.A. (FBT ProMaxx and Subline) and mixing desk (Behringer X32). He also handled all aspects of Health & Safety related to the show – from ensuring all cabling running on walkways was secured properly using rubber matting to creating an orchestra pit and ensuring that walkways were clearly marked and fire exits accessible. The Health & Safety plan he drew up for the show was highly praised by the Health & Safety team from Scottish Borders Council.

At all times, Will is personable, professional, knowledgable and supportive. All staff and pupils at the Berwickshire High School are happy to have him on board."
